afterimage is an exhibtion that shows a series of photographs of the artist's friends and his observations of western/western-influenced art within his private sphere. the photographs are near reproductions of its referent but are injected with the vestiges of the private – a residue of a handprint, a text message from a friend. within these pseudo-reproductions and painterly images of both himself and his friends, the viewers are invited to consider not only the gaze of the artist but also of each figure within.

in the final self-portrait, the artist notices his reflection while looking at his screen and connects his camera straight into the laptop. the result is a short circuit, an ouroboros, a digital mis en abyme, an afterimage of an afterimage of an afterimage of
